Yes, our life does often feel like a circus, but today we actually went to the circus. Q enjoyed it. I think B LOVED it. I felt sorry for the animals. It is so different going to the circus as an adult. Other than the circus, I enjoyed some great girl time!
This Q's friend AK (our sleepover friend) and her mom, Kayla.
Q's friend L and his mom, Shannon
B pretty much stayed in the Bjorn, even while taking his bottle. Cold. YUCK! But thankfully for me...he did. Otherwise it would have been nursing time and well, the circus isn't really conducive for that.
Speaking of the Bjorn, it won't be long before we aren't able to rely on it. I learned Friday at the Drs that B is 18lbs. Which means it's also almost time for a new car seat. And after all day thinking he was so big for almost 6mo, I came home and looked in Q's baby book and shockingly he too, was 18lbs at 6mos. They are shaped so differently.
I also learned Friday when I took B to the Dr for his cough, that he has his very first ear infection! Poor baby. His attitude has been great! You wouldn't even know he was sick. AND poor thing has a light case of eczema. Thankfully I have a closet full of some really great NATURAL lotions & potions!
He is loving his sweet potatoes and we have gotten in a nice routine of dinner, bath, nursing and bed. It happens fast and furiously around here. I hate that bed time comes so fast after we walk in the door during the week.
But I know this too will pass so I am trying to savor every minute I can, while I can.

Preppy
I had to share a picture of two of my favorite guys. I call it Preppy Camouflage.
It's probably a bit much for daycare but for Chad it's part of his uniform. Day in and day out he gets to wear a pair of chinos and a button down shirt or golf shirt. Wouldn't that be nice? How easy would it be to get dressed in the morning! I could get dressed pretty fast! My morning routine would be cut in half. Yes, I spend way too much time standing in my closet wondering what I am going to wear. And it is even harder when you still got some baby weight and NOTHING fits. Or it doesn't fit right. And I do NOT wear clothes that don't fit. It is uncomfortable and not attractive. I also don't feel like spending gobs of money for what I hope are "in the meantime" clothes. So for now I rotate between the few pairs of pants that fit and anything that isn't white, cream, or ivory.
But it's a small price to pay for the outcome!

Not Me Monday!
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
Q did not have french fries two nights in a row. Not me, my meals are planned and well balanced.
I did not give Q sweet potatoes laced with breastmilk tonight. Those were for Bradley. Not me, I am again more prepared than that at dinner time on a work night!
I did not put B in a size 2 diaper because I had them still. Not me, I would never put my baby in a too small diaper to use them up!
Hope you enjoyed!

They say...
it takes 21 days to make something a habit? What do they know? Who are they, anyway?
I'm going to have to make that 7. Because it has been 7 days that Q has been dry in big boy underware!! We are still doing a diaper at night. However, a few of those have been dry. And dry because he has woken us up to go potty!!
Last Saturday he wanted to wear big boy undeware. I didn't think twice, of course you can I told him. But then when I needed to go to the grocery store and he wanted to go, I was scared. Seriously, I was. I really just wanted to put him in a diaper and take him with me. Or I wanted him to stay home and stay in his BBU. But for once, I didn't let the fear hold me. I had to beg him to go potty before we left, and he did.
And I knew it would happen. As we were cruising the aisles of the Harris Teeter, I saw it. The face. The white knuckles. The red cheeks. The clenched teeth. Darn it. I knew it. I knew it would happen. This is why I wanted to leave him at home. Q "Do you need to potty?" "YES!!". He parked his "customer in training" flagged cart behind mine and we rushed into the back. Restrooms are ALWAYS in the back of grocery stores! We ran from one side to the other! No bathroom. No people. Back to the other side. Finally a person! "Where is the ladies room", I blurted out. "Front of the store by the flowers". FRONT OF THE STORE? My mind was racing. So I did the only thing I could think of. I picked him up and ran to the front of the store. I have no idea, what "going to the potty" indicates, but I knew I didn't want it to happen anywhere but in the potty. Especially when we really needed groceries! I also have no idea how long he can hold it. I did know I didn't want to find that out either. I've had two babies, I can't hold it long myself. "Mommy, you run fast", he tells me. Glad to know I can still do that, I think. We made it to the front of the store and into the ladies room. He did it! He made it!! He is dry!!! I am one proud Mama.
Proud of him. He wanted to do this. He made up his mind. He didn't want to wear pull ups anymore. He has definately always done things on his terms when he wants to.
I am proud of me. I let him do this on his own. I didn't push him. I didn't have a timeline. I didn't bribe him. I still have plenty of diapers and pull ups. I was fine with two in diapers. But I am more than fine with my big boy in his big boy underware!

Snowy Saturdays
This weekend was Valentines Day.
It snowed. Again. But this time I didn't mind it. It didn't inconvenience me at all. Thankyouverymuch! Therefore, I was alright with it. It didn't stick to the road and just gave everything else a nice white covering. It was the perfect snowman snow!
Q insisted that the snowman wear his scarf and hat. And thanks to the "invention" of the baby carrot, who's got a large carrot around for a nose? We sure don't, so we used an orange marker. Thanks, I thought it was clever too! Porter really liked his arms and Q was extremely upset when Porter decided to run off with them in his mouth. He might be scarred for life? I'm just warning you for future snow man days!
And there is one more reason to write today! It's Grandmas birthday! Grandma is off on her winter hibernation trip but we got to Skype and she got to see the boys sing her Happy Birthday!
Cheers Grandma! Hope you had an amazing day!! We can't wait to celebrate when you get home. But we know, we have to wait for the snow to stop first!!
XO

That's what friends are for...
Keep smiling
Keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me.
I believe Whitney Houston said it best.
I have awesome friends. They are all very different. They all get along when put in a room together. They actually have lots in common. It's funny because I was going to blog about another friend last week, but I was so tired (she kept me at her house on a weeknight drinking red wine until midnight) when I got home, I just couldn't do it. And then it was the weekend and my birthday etc etc. I will blog about her soon because she is doing something extremely wonderful for charity.
First I want to tell you about my amazing friend Amanda.
Isn't she beautiful?
She has 3 under 3 (and not just 3 under 3..she has a 2.5 yo boy and twin boys, like me she lives in a house of Y's). Tonight when I got home she brought over a homeade HOT dinner!! And not just a hot dinner, hot rolls and WINE. And not just hot dinner and hot rolls and wine, but a special dinner for QP!! I KNOW!! Isn't she great? I dont' know what I did to deserve such a great friend and neighbor, but it must have been good!
She is funny and witty. She is smart and loves children. She even knows lots about them. In her former life she was a kindergarten teacher. Now she is a busy mom to three handsome boys. And I do mean handsome. She is sensitive and passionate. She even likes to talk "green" with me!
She is also a great photographer. Here is a picture she took of B last week when we walked down to have a play date in the snow.
So this really doesn't show her awesome photographers eye, but she does know a cute baby when she sees one!
So thanks to my friend Amanda I am going to bed with a clean kitchen and a fully tummy!
Thanks Amanda you rock! XO

FRIDAY!!
It is Friday and I was going to try and write a new post called 5 question Friday. But I am too tired & not feeling very inspired.
B has had me up every thirty minutes for about a week now! I really think he wants to sleep on his tummy. If he does this on his own, I am fine with that, but I CAN NOT for the life of me, do it for him. For the same reason I can not put a blankey in there with him. It scares the life out of me. And even though that may help him sleep, I on the other hand would be up worrying. The point is for us BOTH to sleep! That makes it not worth it.
But this makes it worth it
And I should be doing the dishes or putting away laundry or cleaning up the toy room or some might even suggest sleeping or or OR...instead I sit here in front of this computer and try to decompress from the week but as I do that I feel guilty about all the above that I should be doing!
Q helped me make the guest bed tonight and kept telling me how beautiful it was! He likes to tell Chad & I that we are "a good mommy" or "a good daddy". He likes to repeat things we say. How "lucky" we are. He will say it seconds later, minutes, later sometimes days later. He uses it in the right context, which makes it that much more funny!
On that note it's been thirty minutes and B is "calling" for me..Have a great weekend everyone!

Let it snow! Let it snow!
LET IT SNOOOOOWWWWWWWW!
Before all those fun details, I have to tell you that B rolled over!! Once on Saturday and once on Monday!
And snow it did!
Friday night before bed the flakes started falling. Saturday morning we woke up to LOTS of snow! LOTS OF SNOW!! Q was extremely excited and couldn't wait to get outside. Daddy took him out first. They had a great time with Porter!
Snowball fight!
My first handsome boy!
My head was spinning with all the good things I planned to make while we were snowed in! B & I stayed snug and warm inside.
The snow as B saw it!
I actually got him on video laughing at the big boys throwing snow balls at the sliding glass door! It was so fun to hear that baby laugh! That good ole belly laugh! I just can't get enough! Maybe I will try and upload. Maybe. I am sure it will take forever!?
Saturday also brought out the johnny jump up for the first time! B liked it and & Q thought it would be fun to spin him around...when I wasn't looking!
Sunday brought us the same thing...MORE SNOW. Moday came and brought...YOU GUESSED IT! STILL LOTS OF SNOW! Which down here means...NO SCHOOL! Which also means no work for a parent. Which this week meant me. Which was fine by me, I can work from home. But I also got to play with my neighbor Amanda and her babies. ALL 3 of them! Q & M are best buds. B&N&B will also be best buds. We will see to it!
Tonight AK came to spend the night! Here is a picture of my old married couple (as they have been named by their teachers) in their matching pajamas! Look at that sweet girl in a nightgown. Why are nightgowns so cute?
